Greens Rugby

Merewether Carlton Rugby Union Club has cemented a place at the top of the Newcastle and Hunter Rugby Union Competition. The club proudly fills the maximum number of teams possible, comprising of five senior grades, a colts and a women’s side.

The club has been Newcastle Rugby club champions on nineteen occasions, a record that no other club has surpassed. This includes being club champions in the last five consecutive seasons – 2005 to 2009.

The rugby union club is located in the exclusive Newcastle beach side suburb of Merewether with training at Bar Beach. If you are looking to play club rugby in the Hunter region, then Merewether is the place to be.
