Greens and Hawks unite to 'Punt Prostate Cancer'
The Merewether Carlton Rugby Club and the Hamilton Rugby Club will temporarily put their rivalries aside to join forces in a 'Punt Prostate Cancer' firndraiser in conjunction with their much anticipated Townson Oval rugby union blockbuster next Saturday (30ft July, 2011).
The Greens and Hawks are presently placed fnst and second respectively in the Premier One and Premier Two grades with those positions reversed in Premier Three. The Greens lead the Colts competition with the Hawks third.
Merewether Carlton is yet to meet with defeat in Premier One, the Greens having inflicted Hamilton with their only loss of the season in an 18 - 13 result in round two of the NHRU competition.
Both clubs will wear sky-blue socks in the Premier One encounter on Saturday in support of the Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance's ongoing fight against the insidious disease.

are really happy to get behind the Alliance" Mr Neader said. "It is the most eagerly awaited clash of the season and should draw a big crowd so we hope it will help with raising both awareness and funds for prostate cancer research" MrNeader added.
Hamilton President Brett Sutherland said his club was likewise happy to be involved "This terrible disease transcends any club rivalries and whilst there will be no love lost on the field we are pleased be able to join with the Greens
to promote the work of the Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance".
