Scott Watson
A gifted athlete who had acheived some incredible highs & lows in the Newcastle Rugby League competition playing for the Maggots, decided a few yrs ago to follow in the footsteps of his brother Paul and have a dash at the Gentlemans game we scholars call Rugby.
The decision to play rugby came after some horrific shoulder injuries playing league and Scott felt that playing Rugby would be a little softer on his already aging and brittle body, however his worst fears came to fruition when in his debut year for the greens he almost had a carreer ending shoulder sprain in his first game in the Cresent Head Sevens Tournement. Was injury to forever plague the carreer of such a once in a lifetime talent?
We do know that injury has forced Scott to remain in the backs but many know that he is a frustrated forward at heart, playing in the backs. He has wanted to come out for years but has just been too scared to and has had to live a life of lies always shameful of his true feelings. Just watching from afar as those guys crouch and hold...each other.
While off the field Scott has always been a bit of a lady killer it is his desire for costumes that have cemented his place in the heart of his girl. It has been duley noted that Scott has dressed as a cowboy at every opportunity and also noted is his penchant for press studs and a holster belt.
Confused about this desire to dress Scott tends to use Saturday's as a way of letting it all out and lashes out at opposition. He is known as one of the only players to get into a stink every week on the field but to never throw a punch, he loves to go toe to toe without the physical violence...is this a fear that the modelling career will be in tatters if he cops a blow or just that he can't handle seeing people hurting?
Scott 'Butter Bean' Watson is also renowned for not doing the 'fish thing' and shower in his undies, but just not showering at all. Is this due to not packing enough heat in his holster or is it that is bullets are so big that it makes his Smith & Wesson look small?
There are a few questions left unanswered in the career of Scott 'Butter Bean' 'Bullets' Watson but we are all hoping that 2007 is the year that Scott's ageing and frail body holds up to put these questions to rest once and for all.
Nearing the end of a torrid match at the new home of 1st Division - Dangar Park - Butter Bean has "thrown" a hay maker at a disruptive Uni forward, unfortunately it didn't connect and there were enough M.C forwards to "rescue" him so as to leave his future modelling career intact.
